Weren't There Women in Harry Potter?

I must say this is a cool job and a cool way to die but Snape isn't my type: What will be your HP life? by Doom_Song Name Job Minister Of Magic Partner Severus Snape Death Killed by Voldemort Created with quill18 's MemeGen ! Another cool job but I have no idea who this is: What will be your HP life? by Doom_Song Name Job Dark Overlord Partner Remus Lupin Death poison Created with quill18 's MemeGen ! I'm revealing my real name for two reasons: one using Likestrek was so boring and Lady Vader knows my name anyway. So anyway, let me tell you about my Modern Publishing class. Once again, it proves to be my favorite class. We had a guest speaker today: Susan Canavan who is Director of Mariner Books, the trade paperback division of Houghton Mifflin here in Boston. What she does is fascinating. I'm especially intrigued by what goes into skipping the hardcover phase and putting it directly into paperback. The main reason sems to be so poor students

What you all want to know I'm sure.

You want to know what I thought of Charmed and Alias don't you? Well lets start with Charmed: I hate Phoebe's hair but Piper was hot as a Valkerie. I don't really want ruin anything for people who haven't seen it so just get out of here if you want to be surprised. You gone? Good. What is Chris's game? I believe he is from the future but there's no way he's a Whitelighter and he doesn't seem like a Darklighter to me either. My first thought is he's after Wyatt maybe because Wyatt is perhaps a threat to him in the future. Wyatt is magically protected from harm, as we've seen several times, so killing him off would not be an easy task. That seems relatively obvious as is getting Leo out of the way so he'd be named their Whitelighter and have a legitimate reason to be around. Yet there's something missing... For those who don't want to be spoiled on Alias now is your time to get lost. This episode reminded me o

Commentary on Enterprise

This is something I just posted elsewhere that I wanted to share with you. It's a quick commentary on Enterprise: I agree that dropping Star Trek from the title was a marketing ploy although a stupid one. All one had to do was watch the first five minutes of "Broken Bow" to realize it was Star Trek. Granted, the show is much more accesible to the American viewing public who find Alias "too cerebral" (Refrence intended) with an actual Earth calendar date instead of a stardate number that means nothing to many. I love this about the show as well as the grappler and other "pre-TOS tech." (To this I must add that the new command center seems way too advanced for this time period. ) I also don't mind that the Klingons have ridges. There are ways to get around the Borg and Ferengi appearence controversies. Now, that we are in the deadly and dangerous unexplored Delphic Expanse, new aliens may appear and it won't upset me. I am far from

Back at you, Lady Vader

You are the most universal mythical beast ever. Sightings of the unicorn have been reported from all over the world, even in modern times. Unicorns are pure and incorruptible. In China, unicorns symbolized gentleness, good will, and wisdom. Christianity links the unicorn with Christ. It is said that unicorns would only allow virgin girls to see them, let alone touch them. They were easily lured into fatal ambushes by a virgin with some poachers waiting for the unicorn in nearby bushes. A unicorn's horn was a highly prized possession, which was reputed to have great healing capabilities. With the touch of its horn, a unicorn could bring back a person who had been dead for several hours. But when separated from the unicorn's body, the magic was significantly reduced. The unicorn had the body of a horse, a unique spiraling horn, and a lion's tail. They were pure white in color. What mythical beast best represents you? Take the quiz! My Online Information Services class,

Night at the Movies.

Tonight, my library school had two library themed movies: Deskset with Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy and Party Girl with Parker Posey who I'm pretty sure will be in the new Blade film as a vampire. Anyway, both films were very good and were definitely not just for librarians so I recommend them. I so needed a night out after spending the last two days doing homework for my Online Information Services class that I have all day Saturdays. I will note though that they couldn't get the color to work on either film. It didn't occur to us that the Hepburn/Tracy film was in color but Party Girl was an 80's film...

Job update

I finally heard from the Massachusetts Historical Society today. They had so many applicants, they couldn't interview everyone. I believe this. The economy totally sucks despite what Pat Robertson said on TV this morning. (Insert comment here.) Anyway, this is interesting: "When Doves Cry" (by Prince) How could you just leave me standing, Alone in a world so cold? Maybe you're just too demanding. Maybe I'm just like my father--too bold. Maybe you're just like my mother. She's never satisfied. Why do we scream at each other? This is what it sounds like, When doves cry. Which 80's Song Fits You? brought to you by Quizilla

My Watch RIP 1997-2003

Let me tell you about my day yesterday. My watch died the night before so I really had no idea what time it was. I'm still staring at my wrist trying to get the time. Anyway, I got ready for class as normal. I had time to kill so I decided to check my e-mail. The sun was blinding me so I put my sunglasses on. When I arrived at Palace Road, I discovered that I had left my regular glasses and the case on my desk back in my room! I informed the teacher of my situation and tried to assure everyone that I didn't have a hang over. I'm not sure how successfull I was. After class, I went to lunch and a classmate bumped into me and informed me that papers had fallen out of my bag. Thankfully, when I went back, they were still there. most of it was crap but the research study I'm critiguing for the class was also among these papers. My day improved but was no less interesting. I needed a few more washcloths so I went to Bed, Bath, Beyond. (I'm still amze

Greetings to all who decided to decided to read the first post.

Everybody and their mother seems to have a blog so why can't I? I have things on my mind that perhaps no one cares about but I need to vent. Whats going on with me? As always, while I seem to be good at the schooling, currently getting my master in library science, but getting the work expereince isn't happening. I have been known to sabatage the process occassionally but not all the time. A big pet peeve of mine is: how am I supposed to get the experience they clearly prefer when no one hires me? Ah a two topic post! Women. I discovered recently that an ex lied about her age and it turns out I had an internet relationship with a 15 year old! (I was 21 at the time.) I found out about this days ago and I still feel ill. I'm 25, soon to be 26, the only "relationship" I've had turns out to be based on a lie. Argh!!!
