Thanksgiving Blues

So, we didn't go away for Thanksgiving this year as I came down with an intestinal thing Tuesday night spending about 42 hours straight on a "porcelain cruise." Thankfully, I was able to eat a little something on the actual day and was feeling well enough to preform my duty as greeter this morning at church. Woo Hoo! Lately, I've been keeping busy revising databases. I noticed about a month ago that the All Creatures Great And Small page only had the two stars, Christopher Timothy and Robert Hardy, appearing in thirty of the ninety episodes. Why the hell wouldn't James Herriot appear in a show about James Herriot? I mean one or two episodes maybe but over fifty? In any case, I starting submitting corrections and I noticed last night that someone else has been doing the same bringing the numbers up to fifty-something now. Even more recently, I've been working on applying labels to the archived posts on this here blog. It seems I've taken many quizzes over ...

Get Out The Fork.

I finished my database this afternoon. There are some flaws beyond my control but it's still infinitely better than anything I've done in the class all semester so that's something. Smallville was fairly good last night. It was almost like Clark had to face a fellow Kryptonian but doesn't encroach on any continuity issues. Nice. I was especially interested in that fact Jor-El used Jonathan's body to heal Clark. I can't wait to find out what's going on with the two of them. I love the Native American analogy to Clark and Lex's future relationship. An interesting touch. I do have a question though: when Holdsclaw set fire to the truck with heat vision, any idiot could tell he was going to do it and Clark had time to stop it. Now, I know doing so would enforce the professor's belief Clark is the deity Naman and it was just a truck but still... Angel was infinitely better than last week. Angel and Spike are hilarious together. The on...

Time to Blog

I really can't afford to take any time off but I have much to catch you all up on. Smallville rocked. It's hard to say who exactly is more of a threat to Clark: Lionel or Dr. Garner. I thought it was neat that it turns out Clark's first word was "Lara" which is of course his mother. You knew it was really Lillian who killed Julian but it's highly understandable that Lex would take the fall for it given Lionel's state of mind. Angel was merely a space filler this week. There had to be an episode where the Illyria situation was more or less resolved but there's only so many ways to do it I think. The other storyline with the demon cult wanting some woman's baby was even less interesting but plays a major role in upcoming episodes. Obviously, Angel is just pretending to give in to the Senior Partners and act like a lawyer but the question is what does he hope to gain by it? Oh, did anybody notice Mercedes McNab was finally added to ...

No Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends? WTF?

Finally a new episode of Enterprise. Overall, the episode was good, I guess. We finally find out why T'Pol has been acting so emotional lately. Perhaps that's why the earlier Vulcan expedition into the Expanse went wrong. Could they have been experimenting with Trellium D in an effort to experience emotions as well? While it might have been nice to resolve the issues brought up during part one of this, I suppose it's good they are continuing it throughout the rest of the season. While the main plot was certainly original I don't think I like the implications. Attacking a ship to steal a warp coil is not how Star Trek should go. This is a Babylon 5 plot. Archer kept justifying it by saying they really need the warp coil. No, they didn't. They are already are in Xindi space near the weapon. They don't need warp any time soon and can wait for someone else to come along to help them. I know this is a hundred and 10 years before the Original Series but this...

How's My Day Going? Eh.

What Is the Title of Your Life Story and Who Will Write It? by davisj8 Name Title The Juicy Fruit Incident Author Dave Barry Created with quill18 's MemeGen 2.0 ! I don't even know what the above title means. I have chewed Juicy Fruit a few times in my life but... There was no hot water for my shower this morning. I hate cold showers. Although some my say I need one... I got a seat on the Green Line this morning. Amazing I say. Work was ok. I did more research into the nursing database issue I mentioned before. We have re-evaluated how we teach bibliographic instruction to Nursing students. Helped a co-worker with Access. A student came into the library wanting to do her assignment for a computer class. Two problems. The assignment was to install a non-existent printer. You can't, of course, install hardware on a library computer anyway. The second problem was the text was geared for XP and the computers in the library are running 2000. This is...

Damn! That's Accurate! (Why Am I Happy About This?)

loneliness dominates you. You can hide it well, but its there, and your friends can see it. You constantly feel alone, and need to do things to fill your time. Your afraid to tell people this, but sooner or later it gets out in a bad way, and you think you screwed up everything. And when you are in love is when you are sad the most. (Please Vote) What Emotion Dominates you? brought to you by Quizilla Today at work I did a lot of tech stuff. I apparently have become "the tech guy." I don't mind though. I much prefer helping with computer problems, such as connecting a monitor to a computer cabinet (Known by lay people as "the brain.") and attatching a file to an e-mail as opposed to signing people in to use a computer. That is so monotonous. I also helped, much more than I thought I'd have to, with a bibliographic instruction class. This means we showed them how to find a book in the online catalog and use our databases to find an article. ...
