Music: "Driver's Seat"- Sniff'n The Tears

First, let me describe my final day at work before the holiday. I went, did a little ILL and then, when really nothing was going on, I went home. While I'm writing an important, or at least possibly important e-mail, that I don't want to discuss right now but may later, I get a call from my pastor who is also an adjunct faculty member. She needed help finding some material and wondered if I could come back. So I do; after finishing the email, of course.

When I got there, she gave me the list of books she wanted to find and made me tea and a plate of animal crackers. I actually found most of the books in our collection and was able to request the others through ILL. This was the first time I had done that for a patron, although I had done it for myself, so it was kind of cool on a certain level but all this trudging back and forth has made me a little tired. Thankfully, I can rest tomorrow...

I close on a personal note. I pleased KJ Kofsuske still checks in on my blog. I worried the situation over her blog would cause me to lose a reader...

The situation at my blog had nothing to do with you and everything to do with my irrational fear of being internet-stalked by a certain ex.

It took me until the second paragraph to figure out what ILL meant. D'oh

Random Comments Into My Life

We did yardwork yesterday. I picked up a lot of sticks. Home Depot sucks on a Friday morning. My father and I went to get a new gascan for the mower and there was only one employee around to help us...and she didn't know anything about how these new fangled gas cans work... So due to a bank error when I reset my bank account so I could accurately keep track again, I had like a hundred dollars less in my account than I thought so my last bill payment put me in the hole. This would've been all right and easily fixed if I had been paid for the last week of my mailroom job but, oddly, I still have not been even though it's been weeks. I don't know if I can accurately convey how infuriated this makes me. If it doesn't happen soon, heads will roll! Also yesterday I re-watched the Enterprise episode "Regeneration"; this time with audio commentary from the writers. They made some valid points I hadn't considered on the issue of if this episode screws with...

Remind Me

Remind me to complain how boring and unexciting my life more often because as soon as I did, it got really exciting really fast. Last night, we had four visitors arrive from Korea. They like ziti and garlic bread. Go figure. They will be staying until Sunday night. I told my mother (AKA Hyacinth Bucket) she was making way too much salad but did she listen? No. Now we have this huge-ass bowl of salad in the fridge...What's really irritating is first the fork we use to serve catfood went missing now Susie's dish is missing as well... Tomorrow, I have a physical to prepare for my surgery then I go to my orthopedist's to fill out consent forms. Woo Hoo! I hope I can find time for a haircut as well because... Friday, I have a job interview at a library in Massachusetts! It's a reference job but I also will be conducting a book group. I've never done that but it sounds really fun. Sure, I'll be stuck reading many book that sucks but isn't that what book group i...

This Is Where I Was And Will Be Again

These are pictures from my first trip down to Southwest Florida this past October. The 'rents and I are going back down tomorrow so I thought I'd give all one of you a clue to where I was. This is a local park called Ponce De Leone Park. I like this shot because it shows some differences between down there and up here. There's some pretty tacky homes down there. Some homes, maybe that one, are worth about a million dollars and don't look much more interesting than that. By the way, we hope to see a real manatee or two this time... This is Gilchrist Park. That water in the lower left corner is actually part of a big fountain. Again, this shot shows a big difference in climate from up here. Interestingly, this park has the more extravagant Ponce De Leone statue/monument. Weird... We will probably visit this park again at least once while we're down. The theme of differences continues here, al beit morbidly. I had to get a shot of this as it amused me. (Although the ...
