More Movies And...More!

My roommate's college friend was up again so we got some more good food, including an awesome chocolate cake, and watch four movies. First up was Gameplan with The Rock as a quarterback for the fictional team "Boston Rebels," a name I'm sure they put a lot of thought into, whose hereto unknown daughter shows up at his door. Disney hilarity and drama ensues. The movie didn't suck but let's just say it won't be going in my collection...

The second film was another Disney film: Meet the Robinsons. This film was very good if predictable. One more comment: Nicole Sullivan and Tom Selleck voice this couple. If the two of them were really married, I think one of them would die and Tom's the NRA member so "choo choo on this!" (Best line of the movie...)

Film number 3 was No Reservations with Catherine Zeta Jones, Aaron Eckhart and Abigail Breslin. Jones plays a executive chef who feels her employment is threatened by Eckhart and whose sister dies leaving her to take care of her niece (Breslin). The movie, more than Gameplan, reminded me of Black Beauty and Fly Away Home. Very good movie indeed.

Finally, we have Happy Feet. Definitely Robin Williams at his best but, while the movie was great at using information found in March of the Penguins, why Mumbles (Elijah Wood) had different eyes and markings than everyone else was never delved into. The answer to this would explain why he tap dances instead of sings...

Briefly, I want to talk about my book some more as it's the most exciting thing to happen to me in years. To answer the question in the comment section, it's called Winter Storm and is a spy thriller concerning a NATO intelligence agent investigating the assassinations, both successful and not, of several European heads of state. KJ Kofsuske may remember this from college though I can't remember if she read back then or not. I remember the discussion of it, however. Still no official release date but bookmark the site for more news as it develops!

I definitely remember talking about the story...was it one I beta'd at one point?

BTW, my jealousy on your impending publication is huge. :)

All I really remember was that you were coincidentally writing an assassin story of your own at the time.

The process is much easier, and cheaper, than I would have guessed. I went through PublishAmerica.

Random Comments Into My Life

We did yardwork yesterday. I picked up a lot of sticks. Home Depot sucks on a Friday morning. My father and I went to get a new gascan for the mower and there was only one employee around to help us...and she didn't know anything about how these new fangled gas cans work... So due to a bank error when I reset my bank account so I could accurately keep track again, I had like a hundred dollars less in my account than I thought so my last bill payment put me in the hole. This would've been all right and easily fixed if I had been paid for the last week of my mailroom job but, oddly, I still have not been even though it's been weeks. I don't know if I can accurately convey how infuriated this makes me. If it doesn't happen soon, heads will roll! Also yesterday I re-watched the Enterprise episode "Regeneration"; this time with audio commentary from the writers. They made some valid points I hadn't considered on the issue of if this episode screws with...

Remind Me

Remind me to complain how boring and unexciting my life more often because as soon as I did, it got really exciting really fast. Last night, we had four visitors arrive from Korea. They like ziti and garlic bread. Go figure. They will be staying until Sunday night. I told my mother (AKA Hyacinth Bucket) she was making way too much salad but did she listen? No. Now we have this huge-ass bowl of salad in the fridge...What's really irritating is first the fork we use to serve catfood went missing now Susie's dish is missing as well... Tomorrow, I have a physical to prepare for my surgery then I go to my orthopedist's to fill out consent forms. Woo Hoo! I hope I can find time for a haircut as well because... Friday, I have a job interview at a library in Massachusetts! It's a reference job but I also will be conducting a book group. I've never done that but it sounds really fun. Sure, I'll be stuck reading many book that sucks but isn't that what book group i...

Your soul is bound to the Second Totem, Luna: The Wolf . Luna appears as a pair of coral colored wolves. She embodies empathy, nurturing, insight, and warmth . She is associated with the color coral, the season of spring, and the element of wind. Her downfall is pathos. You are most compatible with Doves and Ravens. Which Animal Spirit Totem Are You? brought to you by Quizilla I think I only clicked one of those qualities; maybe more. Odd but at least I'm not a Cockroach...
