This Is True On Some Level At Least

You Should Be a Film Writer

You don't just create compelling stories, you see them as clearly as a movie in your mind.
You have a knack for details and dialogue. You can really make a character come to life.
Chances are, you enjoy creating all types of stories. The joy is in the storytelling.
And nothing would please you more than millions of people seeing your story on the big screen!

This morning, my mother's church was having a breakfast so my father and I ran over and ran back. (Not literally.) We had pancakes, sausage AND bacon as their current confirmation class put it on and it's mostly boys this year. 'Nuff Said.

I feel the need to clear up some confusion about my posts and comments thereof. Why am I spending money on CDs when I should be saving it up to pay my two monthly bills (health insurance and consolidated student loan)? Because I have only so much will power. Sure, I can hold out when I have no money but if I'm able to buy a damn CD without overdrawing my account, I'm going to do it. Besides, I'm buying, what, two CDs a year? Besides, I'm not sinking my money into a cell phone or credit card. I also want to point out that my annual ALA dues, and other more frivolous bills, are still paid for by me alone. Thank you.

I really would love to go to a pancake breakfast at a church. My thing (and I not an uber-spoiled rich kid--more like spoiled-lite) is I won't eat unreal maple syrup. So, if I brought some, would that be rude? and would I have to share? You are mad lucky to get both kinds of breakfast meats tho.

Also, I saw a sign for a church pasta supper. Yes it had meatballs, but it was 10$ a head. For pasta at a church? I thought it was kinda pricey but maybe times have changed since I was religiously active.

10 dollars is way too much. Many suppers down here are like 6 or 7 which seems a bit too expensive to me so, 10, forget it...

Your fancier churches would frown on you bringing your own syrup but they would probably be more apt to have the real stuff anyway. The less fancy churches wouldn't care but would expect you to share unless you had some sugar-free stuff because you're diabetic.

The Neglected Blog

With the discovery of the time-waster that is Facebook, I find I no longer need to waste my time here. This is mainly why I haven't done any quizzes or other memes here in a cat's age. (I'm not a dog person...) They're all over there. Also why tell you all about what's not going on in my life when I can better waste time by making fake money off Lindsay Lohan's hi-jinks? Added to that, you can regularly follow the mundaness that is my life on Twitter. I don't want to say I'll never blog again. Frankly, this site and I have chronicled much over the years and I'm not ready to give it up fully. Every so often, something comes up worth sharing. Case in point, Thursday night, there was a retirement celebration for our outgoing OT professor complete with a guest lecturer from Boston, dinner and a vesper service designed by the professor herself. It was good Thai food, though admittedly not my favorite Asian cuisine, and saw many people I knew. My parents c...

The Big E and Other Commentary

Last night, we went to the Big E up in West Springfield. It was apparently Connecticut Day so the parade was all CT all the time. It was the longest parade I have ever watched. It went on like forever. We got a baked potato at the Maine Building and a Spiced Apple Cider Donut at the Vermont building as well as sharp cheese called "The Preacher." I wanted to get "The Green Mountain Boys" which was supposedly XX-sharp but my father wouldn't go for it. We then went to the Sam Adams Beer Garden where I ordered an Octoberfest. Mine was 20 ounces so it looked huge compared to the little cups of chardonnay my parents ordered. We then went over to get the special Big E cream puff. Has anyone heard Clay Aiken's new song? He's covering Badfinger's "Without You" of all things and, I really hate say this, it's pretty good... We're having another Movie Night a week from tomorrow. We've decided today that we're going to watch Akeela...

Rant and Update

First off, I must ask: Where the bloody hell is my copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows ? I ordered the thing five days ago! I'm going to start reading spoilers soon! I really want to read this book! Anyway, so I'm still volunteering at the library. We're in the middle of an inventory now. I've also looked in the catalog, one, to see if we had certain new books already and, two, if we did, to see which branch. This week, I've been assigning call numbers to new books. I haven't done that at all since school and that was Library of Congress (LC) classification anyway while here they use Dewey and Cutter numbers. Tomorrow, I won't be going in as the librarian is out today and tomorrow and I did all the work she left for me already.
