Good book but anyway not the point of this post. Yesterday, we went to the Sidewalk Art Festival downtown where there are artists of various quality and prestige selling their creations. They basically shut down the street alolwing people to walk up and down in the street to view the art. Even though it's gone on a good chunk of my life I've never actually gone. Of course, I live right here now. We arrived home to great news. My copy of Harry Potter finally arrived! I haven't had a lot of time to read so I'm only on Chapter 3 but hopefully that will change soon. We actaully had a couple of young and single people in church today so things may be looking up in the friend, maybe more, department as well... Last night, there was an Alumni Happy Hour put on by my college at a restaurant downtown so I went. The music was great as was the appetizers and beer. I went over to give my drink order and I couldn't think of anything. I mean I wasn't craving anything in particular so I asked the waitress what she recommended. She said they just got some new Sam Adams Octoberfest so I just went with that. Most of the TVs in the room we were in was tuned in for the Red Sox game but it was raining so hard in Chicago, I knew they'd never get the game in. I had a great time but left early as there was no one I knew who attended. My class sucks... I overslept this morning by about an hour but somehow we managed to get the section of inventory done anyway as it wasn't as bad as it looked and there was still time for a little shelving. So first off, I was notified of a refund by Amazon for that damn book with no questions asked and the same day I filed it at that! I wonder if that seller had other complaints. They certainly don't mess around. I also won a copy of the book on eBay for a about a dollar less so good news all around there. Over the past couple of months or so I've been reading the Star Trek: Crucible trilogy. I think it would be best to go in-depth about each book seperately. McCoy: Provenance of Shadows was the first boook and probably the best of the three. In the episode "City on the Edge of Forever," which the trilogy has a base, McCoy goes back in time to the 1930's and changes history. Kirk and Spock go back to stop him. This book delves into the lives of the McCoy that changed history in the span of the 30's to the '50's and the McCoy who was stopped and brought back to the ship. This afternoon, we went to see the movie Stardust with some dude I've never heard of, Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nathaniel Parker ( Inspector Lynley Mysteries ), and Robert DeNiro. I thought the best DeNiro role was in Showtime , Meet the Parents or Analyze This but Captain Shakespeare is the role. While not Shatner-fall-off-the-couch funny, it was so good... Claire Danes was radiant as ever but given the role shouldn't we expect this? I think the witches were a bit too Witches of Eastwick but I suppose that's better than something better known so take the comment how you will... I suppose I'm a sucker for fantasy adventure but this movie was very good. My biggest nitpick was it seemed a bit too long but it's hard translating books on screen. You either make it short leaving too much out or you have this. I haven't actually read the book so it might be option three. I'm not sure how they'll do a sequel but The Never Ending Story II exists so.....

My parents, having finished up their jobs but not their packing, came up to visit yesterday into today. My mother wanted to pick up a new cell phone so perspective churches could get ahold of her so we three went to the mall for lunch. Last night, my aunt had tickets for a Seadogs game to make up for the one that was rained out so the six of us (including her co-worker and my parents) went. Despite their closer or whomever that was in the 9th inning blowing the game by giving up 5 runs. It was an awesome time. The best part I think was when they played "Sweet Caroline" and everyone in the stadium sang along although their were many other classic moments.(Speaking of sports, Curt Schilling stunk the other day. Surprise surprise.) Before the 'rents headed back to resume packing, my father picked me up at work today and took me to my grandmother's for lunch. And, yay, my cousin had gone home yesterday! Woo Hoo!

First, even though I think many of you already know this, at least two of you dear readers do not so here it goes: the countdown for my parents last Sunday in CT has officially begun. Yes, my father has a new job in Ellsworth, ME starting later on this month. Before you ask, no, they'll be only an hour closer to me. My mother is still looking for work but I think something will turn up. This of course means that my two CT readers will not likely see me in person any time soon unless you come to me which you're welcome to do so. The Boston sports world has been interesting as of late. The Sox picking up Eric Gagne is a cool move and I think trading Dave Murphy was probably a good move as the major league squad has Coco and his phenom Jacoby Ellsbury in the wings so we can part with a center fielder. I am not happy about them giving Kason Gabbard. I don't think Schilling will be as good as the management apparently thinks he is. We'll have to see of course but I'm alr...
