Scattered, Disorganized Thoughts

When I was done in Florida the first time, yes,I'm going back next month with my parents this time around, I was introduced to an online radio station out of California that played some interesting stuff. Currently, they just played "Monkey Man" which is probably one of the Rolling Stones' worst songs but then, crap from them is better than the best from other so-called artists so it's all good.

Speaking of music, I decided to spend some of my new found spending money at Best Buy and bought Eric Clapton's new CD Back Home and Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway albums as well as the second season of Superfriends. I have not listened to the Clapton album yet but I listened to Breakaway during lunch. Remember I said I was liking the album but was reluctant to buy it because of my high musical standards? (She co-wrote only half the songs.) I think I said that after her third single was released. Two singles later, I say to myself, "I really like half the album now so I might as well suck it up and buy it." By the way, the rest of the album is really good too. Don't tell anyone...

I finished the fourth book in the Narnia series: The Silver Chair this week. Best story in the series since Wardrobe. I'm not sure why it was titled such since the object is only briefly featured but I'm also at a lost to think of a better title except maybe The Lost Prince which I think has been used many times, Eustace's Return, or my favorite: A New Day, A New Witch. Twenty years or so ago when the BBC did a dramatization of this book and Tom Baker (Where's my Monarch of the Glen? Damn pledge drives...) was cast as Puddlegum. Reading the book, you realize it was dead-on casting. Who will they get now?

Oh, this may amuse some of you who know my line of work: I finally got around to getting a library card this week. I figured I'll probably end up living here for awhile and it is free anyway. My reluctance? Well, I was living on one college campus after another for awhile there and their science fiction section still sucks even after I did a collection development manual for them. (Some of my other suggestions were implemented incidentally.)

Actually, that is one of the advantages of living with the parents. No rent and don't have to pay for food...

Random Comments Into My Life

We did yardwork yesterday. I picked up a lot of sticks. Home Depot sucks on a Friday morning. My father and I went to get a new gascan for the mower and there was only one employee around to help us...and she didn't know anything about how these new fangled gas cans work... So due to a bank error when I reset my bank account so I could accurately keep track again, I had like a hundred dollars less in my account than I thought so my last bill payment put me in the hole. This would've been all right and easily fixed if I had been paid for the last week of my mailroom job but, oddly, I still have not been even though it's been weeks. I don't know if I can accurately convey how infuriated this makes me. If it doesn't happen soon, heads will roll! Also yesterday I re-watched the Enterprise episode "Regeneration"; this time with audio commentary from the writers. They made some valid points I hadn't considered on the issue of if this episode screws with...

Remind Me

Remind me to complain how boring and unexciting my life more often because as soon as I did, it got really exciting really fast. Last night, we had four visitors arrive from Korea. They like ziti and garlic bread. Go figure. They will be staying until Sunday night. I told my mother (AKA Hyacinth Bucket) she was making way too much salad but did she listen? No. Now we have this huge-ass bowl of salad in the fridge...What's really irritating is first the fork we use to serve catfood went missing now Susie's dish is missing as well... Tomorrow, I have a physical to prepare for my surgery then I go to my orthopedist's to fill out consent forms. Woo Hoo! I hope I can find time for a haircut as well because... Friday, I have a job interview at a library in Massachusetts! It's a reference job but I also will be conducting a book group. I've never done that but it sounds really fun. Sure, I'll be stuck reading many book that sucks but isn't that what book group i...

Your soul is bound to the Second Totem, Luna: The Wolf . Luna appears as a pair of coral colored wolves. She embodies empathy, nurturing, insight, and warmth . She is associated with the color coral, the season of spring, and the element of wind. Her downfall is pathos. You are most compatible with Doves and Ravens. Which Animal Spirit Totem Are You? brought to you by Quizilla I think I only clicked one of those qualities; maybe more. Odd but at least I'm not a Cockroach...
