I Guess I Have To See Nacho Libre Now...

Two days ago now I think it was, I borrowed The Good Girl from my branch library as I seem to doing a lot of recently. As people who read my blog know, I was hesitant to see it as Friends with Money was frankly hit or miss. I'm glad I did however because this movie rocked. This may be the first "art" film I may add to my DVD collection. (Then again, I don't own Bubba Ho-Tep which was also a really enjoyable film so we'll see...Um, I am definitely not suggesting that was an art film...) Jennifer Aniston is actually a pretty good actress who doesn't get enough credit. I can see why she was cast in that Friends with Money role although she doesn't pull it off as well there.

Three more things make it worth watching: First, Zooey Deschannel is in this. Her role here reminds me of her role in Failure to Launch although the only real similarity is she's hilarious in both movies. Second, John C. Reilly is also hilarious as Justine's stoner husband. They make a pretty convincing couple which I'm sure had to do with his acting as much as hers. Thirdly, the movie was written by Mike White who later wrote School of Rock and the new Nacho Libre. As you know, I love, and own, the former and have wanted to see the later simply because of that. White's character here of Bible-thumping security guard Corny is very amusing as well.

I have good news. No, I didn't save money on my car insurance since why the hell would I need that anyway but I did receive my first real assurance that I would be paid for that the MAY photocopying job by early next week. The woman at my agency felt so bad that it happened to me again she said, and I'm quoting here, "take care of me." Assuming she didn't really mean "kill me" and she's even half as attractive as the two women in the office that I've met in person, I would definitely let her...

I love that movie!! But, you forgot to mention the oh so lovely.....Jake Gyllenhaal. Then again you would not be thinking in the same frame of mind as me ;) I will have to send you Bubba Ho Tep to ensure I don't have to watch it too many more times before I die!

Your husband forces you to watch it on a regular basis? Why am I not surprised?

Random Comments Into My Life

We did yardwork yesterday. I picked up a lot of sticks. Home Depot sucks on a Friday morning. My father and I went to get a new gascan for the mower and there was only one employee around to help us...and she didn't know anything about how these new fangled gas cans work... So due to a bank error when I reset my bank account so I could accurately keep track again, I had like a hundred dollars less in my account than I thought so my last bill payment put me in the hole. This would've been all right and easily fixed if I had been paid for the last week of my mailroom job but, oddly, I still have not been even though it's been weeks. I don't know if I can accurately convey how infuriated this makes me. If it doesn't happen soon, heads will roll! Also yesterday I re-watched the Enterprise episode "Regeneration"; this time with audio commentary from the writers. They made some valid points I hadn't considered on the issue of if this episode screws with...

Remind Me

Remind me to complain how boring and unexciting my life more often because as soon as I did, it got really exciting really fast. Last night, we had four visitors arrive from Korea. They like ziti and garlic bread. Go figure. They will be staying until Sunday night. I told my mother (AKA Hyacinth Bucket) she was making way too much salad but did she listen? No. Now we have this huge-ass bowl of salad in the fridge...What's really irritating is first the fork we use to serve catfood went missing now Susie's dish is missing as well... Tomorrow, I have a physical to prepare for my surgery then I go to my orthopedist's to fill out consent forms. Woo Hoo! I hope I can find time for a haircut as well because... Friday, I have a job interview at a library in Massachusetts! It's a reference job but I also will be conducting a book group. I've never done that but it sounds really fun. Sure, I'll be stuck reading many book that sucks but isn't that what book group i...

Your soul is bound to the Second Totem, Luna: The Wolf . Luna appears as a pair of coral colored wolves. She embodies empathy, nurturing, insight, and warmth . She is associated with the color coral, the season of spring, and the element of wind. Her downfall is pathos. You are most compatible with Doves and Ravens. Which Animal Spirit Totem Are You? brought to you by Quizilla I think I only clicked one of those qualities; maybe more. Odd but at least I'm not a Cockroach...
