Thoughts During Primary Day

1. No matter who you or I voted for yesterday during the primary, Joe Lieberman has proved to be a sore loser. "I'll run as an independent!" Give it up Joe. The state wants a change. You not invulnerable. Get over it. So you've beaten child molesting Republicans in past races. Hell, I'm pretty sure I could manage that...

2. What's John DeStefano going to do with all the bumper stickers now that the people have decided the mayor of my town isn't a good running mate? (Hell, I voted for Glassman as well.) A related question is why does this state even pick running mates before primaries if they aren't tied together in the initial voting? Waste of time, I say.

3. If the Red Sox Don't win the next 2-4 games, they're done. They have the best defensive team they have ever had. (In my lifetime anyway.) The pitching however sucks! I do not blame John Lester specifically since he's not used to the post September grind. (Remind me what month we're in...) I don't even blame Al Nipper who filled in for Dave Wallace, until yesterday, as pitching coach. I blame the front office for giving up Bronson Arroyo in the off season. Yes, I know we can't have 6 or 7 starters and I also realize no team not on major drugs would take Clement or Wells who have just gotten less appealing as the year as gone on. I also acknowledge Wily Mo Pena whom we got in exchange is really only one of like three batters actually hitting the damn ball right now. The point is that instead of 6 starters we have 2, maybe three if I'm drunk enough to be that generous, who can actually keep the opponents from scoring 7 or 8 runs. Argh!!! (Yeah, I know that rant had nothing to do with the primaries but the thought crossed my mind yesterday so there you go...)

Today, my church tried a mini-vacation bible school. We're going today and tomorrow instead of Monday through Friday. We had five kids so we were able to provide lunch which is a pretty cool idea but unreasonable in a church where we'd get 60-80 kids. Our problem child from church school was very well behaved so yay! I think the secret is to not teach him shit...

Tomorrow I decide whether to have the knee surgery as I go to see the doctor. I just don't know. On one hand, I just finished rehab but you can't imagine how tired I am of this shit. I thought I could just wear my brace when I did laundry which would be a pain in the ass but doable and do my exercises but then I haven't done them since Saturday. I did swim instead on Sunday but still...

If you will eventually need surgury anyways, you should do it now! I mean, how much would it suck if this was a lingering issue that prevented you from getting or keeping a great job or something? $0.02...just for you!

Random Comments Into My Life

We did yardwork yesterday. I picked up a lot of sticks. Home Depot sucks on a Friday morning. My father and I went to get a new gascan for the mower and there was only one employee around to help us...and she didn't know anything about how these new fangled gas cans work... So due to a bank error when I reset my bank account so I could accurately keep track again, I had like a hundred dollars less in my account than I thought so my last bill payment put me in the hole. This would've been all right and easily fixed if I had been paid for the last week of my mailroom job but, oddly, I still have not been even though it's been weeks. I don't know if I can accurately convey how infuriated this makes me. If it doesn't happen soon, heads will roll! Also yesterday I re-watched the Enterprise episode "Regeneration"; this time with audio commentary from the writers. They made some valid points I hadn't considered on the issue of if this episode screws with...

Remind Me

Remind me to complain how boring and unexciting my life more often because as soon as I did, it got really exciting really fast. Last night, we had four visitors arrive from Korea. They like ziti and garlic bread. Go figure. They will be staying until Sunday night. I told my mother (AKA Hyacinth Bucket) she was making way too much salad but did she listen? No. Now we have this huge-ass bowl of salad in the fridge...What's really irritating is first the fork we use to serve catfood went missing now Susie's dish is missing as well... Tomorrow, I have a physical to prepare for my surgery then I go to my orthopedist's to fill out consent forms. Woo Hoo! I hope I can find time for a haircut as well because... Friday, I have a job interview at a library in Massachusetts! It's a reference job but I also will be conducting a book group. I've never done that but it sounds really fun. Sure, I'll be stuck reading many book that sucks but isn't that what book group i...

The Neglected Blog

With the discovery of the time-waster that is Facebook, I find I no longer need to waste my time here. This is mainly why I haven't done any quizzes or other memes here in a cat's age. (I'm not a dog person...) They're all over there. Also why tell you all about what's not going on in my life when I can better waste time by making fake money off Lindsay Lohan's hi-jinks? Added to that, you can regularly follow the mundaness that is my life on Twitter. I don't want to say I'll never blog again. Frankly, this site and I have chronicled much over the years and I'm not ready to give it up fully. Every so often, something comes up worth sharing. Case in point, Thursday night, there was a retirement celebration for our outgoing OT professor complete with a guest lecturer from Boston, dinner and a vesper service designed by the professor herself. It was good Thai food, though admittedly not my favorite Asian cuisine, and saw many people I knew. My parents c...
