JRRyan would understand the reference. Anyway, there wasn't just one game last night there was two. Who walks Ortiz just to get to Manny? The Angels, that's who. Morons. Yes, his power numbers was down this season but he was battling injuries and he produced. Last I knew, he was the active career leader in grand slams so for him to hit a three run jack is not out of the question. I love it.

The Yankees losing was perhaps even sweeter. Joe Torre always looks like he needs a potty break even when the Yanks are winning but you almost feel sorry for him. You can almost see him packing his bags and being forced out of town on a rail. Yes, the Yankees could still win the next three games but only one team has ever pulled themselves out of a hole that large. I'll give you a hint who that was. No, actually, I won't. The paragraph above is enough of a hint. Did you notice that the Canadian Soldier ants where primarily attacking them not the Indians? My aunt suggested it was a ploy. That made me chuckle.

I love this game:

Musical Magic 8 Ball
Go to your music player of choice and put it on shuffle.
Say the following questions aloud, and press play.
Use the song title as the answer to the question.

NO CHEATING.

1. How does the world see me?
"Pure and Easy"-The Who. Is that a compliment?

2. Will I have a happy life?
"Go Your Own Way"- Fleetwood Mac. I'm interpreting that as a "Yes."

3. What do my friends really think of me?
"Laughing Out Loud."- The Wallflowers. As a guy with a sense of humor. Cool.

4. Do people secretly lust after me?
"Cockamamie Business"- George Harrison. ::Blinks:: Is that a "Yes?"

5. How can I make myself happy?
"The Difficult Kind"- Sheryl Crow. Get out of a terrible relationship? I don't see how that's applicable.

6. What should I do with my life?
"Cocaine"- Eric Clapton. Use cocaine. What a helpful suggestion...

7. Will I ever have children?
"Jealous Guy"- John Lennon. I think it's chiding me for asking...

8. What is some good advice for me?
"Fortunate Son"- CCR. Deny. Deny. Deny.

9. How will I be remembered?
"Sara"- Fleetwood Mac. I'll remembered as the guy who took her, different spelling, to the Senior Ball in college? Weird...

10. What is my signature dancing song?
"Angel On My Bike."- The Wallflowers. It's definitely a head-bobber/finger-tapper...

11. What do I think my current theme song is?
"Poor Little Girl."- George Harrison. LOL! OMG...

12. What does everyone else think my current theme song is?
"Don't Talk."- 10,000 Maniacs. I was voted twice as "Quietest" so this isn't fair at all...

13. What song will play at my funeral?
"Untitled Hidden Track"- The Pretenders. This song is only a 42 second instrumental. I don't know what that says...

14. What type of men/women do you like?
"Lovers of Today"- The Pretenders. A overly sensitive woman. This, sadly, is probably true.

15. What is my day going to be like?
"Layla"-Derek and the Dominoes. I'm going to spend it, apparently, pining for another man's wife. I'm not kidding...

it amuses me that we can now talk about the red sox, albeit still in a more limited way. Keep up this posting frenzy. It keeps me coming back for more, and heaps on the guilt that really is at the root of getting me to update mine own blog...

Random Comments Into My Life

We did yardwork yesterday. I picked up a lot of sticks. Home Depot sucks on a Friday morning. My father and I went to get a new gascan for the mower and there was only one employee around to help us...and she didn't know anything about how these new fangled gas cans work... So due to a bank error when I reset my bank account so I could accurately keep track again, I had like a hundred dollars less in my account than I thought so my last bill payment put me in the hole. This would've been all right and easily fixed if I had been paid for the last week of my mailroom job but, oddly, I still have not been even though it's been weeks. I don't know if I can accurately convey how infuriated this makes me. If it doesn't happen soon, heads will roll! Also yesterday I re-watched the Enterprise episode "Regeneration"; this time with audio commentary from the writers. They made some valid points I hadn't considered on the issue of if this episode screws with...

Remind Me

Remind me to complain how boring and unexciting my life more often because as soon as I did, it got really exciting really fast. Last night, we had four visitors arrive from Korea. They like ziti and garlic bread. Go figure. They will be staying until Sunday night. I told my mother (AKA Hyacinth Bucket) she was making way too much salad but did she listen? No. Now we have this huge-ass bowl of salad in the fridge...What's really irritating is first the fork we use to serve catfood went missing now Susie's dish is missing as well... Tomorrow, I have a physical to prepare for my surgery then I go to my orthopedist's to fill out consent forms. Woo Hoo! I hope I can find time for a haircut as well because... Friday, I have a job interview at a library in Massachusetts! It's a reference job but I also will be conducting a book group. I've never done that but it sounds really fun. Sure, I'll be stuck reading many book that sucks but isn't that what book group i...

The Neglected Blog

With the discovery of the time-waster that is Facebook, I find I no longer need to waste my time here. This is mainly why I haven't done any quizzes or other memes here in a cat's age. (I'm not a dog person...) They're all over there. Also why tell you all about what's not going on in my life when I can better waste time by making fake money off Lindsay Lohan's hi-jinks? Added to that, you can regularly follow the mundaness that is my life on Twitter. I don't want to say I'll never blog again. Frankly, this site and I have chronicled much over the years and I'm not ready to give it up fully. Every so often, something comes up worth sharing. Case in point, Thursday night, there was a retirement celebration for our outgoing OT professor complete with a guest lecturer from Boston, dinner and a vesper service designed by the professor herself. It was good Thai food, though admittedly not my favorite Asian cuisine, and saw many people I knew. My parents c...
